School Technology Maturity Benchmarks Evaluation

Evaluation & Assessment - Artifact 1

This artifact represents my first foray into the formal evaluation and assessment process and was completed in EDTECH 501. Although it is anonymized it is a very real evaluation of the school where I was working at the time. The structure provided by the survey enabled a thorough and effective evaluation of the technology processes employed at the school and due to my position there, I was able to effect real change based on the conclusions of this summary.

Team Coding w/ Git and GitLab - Evaluation Section

Evaluation & Assessment - Artifact 2

This artifact is less an actual evaluation and more of a plan to evaluate. I developed this plan in EDTECH 503 as part of my instructional design project. While I was developing this unit I was simultaneously learning the subject matter and this resulted in a challenging project. Determining what is essential and what is not is difficult and that is where the formative peer evaluation became extremely helpful. In this project, I began to comprehend the differences between an editor and an evaluator.

Online Course Critiques

Evaluation & Assessment - Artifact 3

In this artifact I compared and contrasted two online courses that covered similar topics to the course I was developing in EDTECH 512, Beginning Python. The Quality Matters and the OSCQR standards provided a formal structure to assess each course and simultaneously informed me how I should attempt to design my instructional unit in the course. This was helpful in articulating what I should aim for in the course I was developing.

Logic Model for Thrillshare Evaluation

Evaluation & Assessment - Artifact 4

I created this logic model in EDTECH 505 using Lucid. Completing this artifact early in the course provided the essential framework and guided the evaluation process of Thrillshare. I felt this artifact should be featured because it clearly and succinctly presents the elements of the entire formal evaluation process. I plan to use this format or something similar to it in professional proposals for new projects or in presentations that evaluate existing projects.

Thrillshare Evaluation

Evaluation & Assessment - Artifact 5

This artifact is the final evaluation report I completed in EDTECH 505. It evaluates a content management system called Thrillshare that is used by many school districts across the country. I used this platform in my former position as an IT administrator so I had some familiarity with the product. A former colleague is currently using the platform in their new position at Wilder School District and often reaches out for assistance so it was a great opportunity to perform an evaluation of the product as well as to assess how well the school district was utilizing the platform.
